Storefront
Store owners often used emblems to advertise what was in their stores. The General Store displays a Cigar Store Indian, which was used to indicate to visitors that they could purchase tobacco from the store. Indian figurines were the widespread symbol used for tobacco because American Indians first introduced tobacco to Europeans.
